Grade:                  Full Time; Non-Exempt

Workdays/Hrs:    Monday – Friday 8:30am-5:30pm; Occasional Saturdays (1-2 per month) 8am – 11am

 

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

 

Position Summary

This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for customers.  It also includes processing account transactions in an accurate, efficient, and professional manner.  Other responsibilities include referring customers to appropriate bank departments, understanding the bank’s products and services, and the ability to clearly explain features/benefits of each product and service.  Other duties include operational duties, bookkeeping duties, and other miscellaneous duties.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

Perform daily transactions that include accurately depositing funds, withdrawing funds, loan transactions, handling cashiers checks and money orders, debit card duties, gift cards, savings bond redemption, cash advances, stop payment transactions, transfer of funds, individual cash drawer balancing, and performing all services in accordance with bank compliance standards, policies, and procedures. 

Perform various duties such as providing outstanding customer service, understanding and learning bank products and services, answering phone calls, assisting customers with their online and mobile banking needs, researching customer accounts, counting and rolling loose coin, and assisting with customer wires.  Other duties include the ordering of checks, ATM servicing and balancing, debit card maintenance, scanning and indexing files, filing, preparing and mailing correspondence, operational and bookkeeping duties, general account maintenance, auditing, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned. 

On a backup basis, you will be required to handle various vault transactions.  Handling and selling money, recording transactions in and out of the vault, purchasing currency for the bank, and accurately balancing and maintaining the vault and vault limits.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous teller experience or working directly in customer service is preferred but not required.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills and basic technical capacity is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on occasion.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
